Question Comes Before An Answer

So perhaps, maybe it is time for me to share some tips for you readers?
I see WHY NOT? Happy to! :)
HONORARY MENTION TO 'GUEST'

How do I study?
How did you get the good grades?
How do you manage your time?

Some secrets will be revealed here. So, note down what you think is useful to you :)

*

1. Get to know yourself more

-Get a plain piece of paper and try to answer the questions you set on your own IN PENCIL.

Here are some examples for you: "What do I want to be?" "How does my dream house look like?" "Will I pass my exam?" "Where did I go wrong?" I listed up to 70 questions and add some more when I feel like it. Try to read, edit, proof-read again and again and again. There is no right or wrong answer.

What do you get from this? You know what your weaknesses and strengths are. Since you read it and edit it from time to time, you get to know yourself better.

2. Be motivated

-This will help you get rid of your laziness. Laziness is the most ANNOYING trait in the universe. Where do I start? There are always teachers to help guide you. I personally love a room called "Career Room" at school. It gives you that motivated mood and wanting to study for your future. Always know what you want to be.

How do I get motivated? In my room, I pasted a list of top universities in the UK and the US coz it has always been my dream to live and study there. And with a great dose of motivation, I am willing to study and reach whatever I want to reach...

Here are my lifetime achievements:
- Get a PhD in my desired course
-Travel the world through the seven seas
-Big house, big family, beautiful wife

What's yours? It will motivate yourself to study more!

3. Get comfortable. Be comfortable.

-Do you have your personal studying environment? Are you comfortable with it?
I have shared this with many people because they always wanted to know!
My day-to-day studying time:

2pm-5pm: I take a nap after school (It is a fact that you tend to forget what you just studied, so rest!)
10pm onwards: Study time/homework! Maximum 2 hours.

My studying environment: I prefer to study at midnight. I am not sleepy at that time around because of the short nap in the afternoon after class. In my bedroom, dim lights, jazz music (or quiet, no TV, no internet, silent phone), cold air-conditioner.

That's how I study at home. But remember, WE HAVE OUR OWN PERSONAL WAY OF STUDYING. You can try my way of studying, but ONLY if you are comfortable with it.

4. The Situation

-In class, always sit in front. Obviously, if you sit at the back, you'll laze around and chat with your friends. You can, but make sure the matter you talk about is regarding the topic you are studying.

But in case the teacher sucks, time to take action. Find someone (a friend, perhaps?) who can tutor you or self study at home!

5. Your teacher is your frienemy-for-now.

I understand how some people are scared to talk to their teachers. Remember guys, they are just doing their job. To teach you. And it is your job to understand them.

If you have a doubt, ASK. YOUR. TEACHER. Even if you have studied it, just ask them. IT IS OK~ :) Last year I once asked the teacher about a Form Three matter, and I wasn't embarrassed. The teacher simply taught me again how to do it. And Voila~

*

6. Get Organised.

Do you have your planner? Fill them in with due dates for homework and studying time. And do not procrastinate, unless unavoidable. File your notes and don't let the papers scatter around.

*

7. Work Your Own Way With Your Own Style

Some may prefer:
-Bright sticky notes (Post-its)
-Colour pens
- Mapping
-Flash cards
-Long text

I prefer long text (weird, huh?). I don't use any other. Just notes filled in with lengthy text! That's usual. You have your own style and keep it! MAKE your own notes with colours if you want to :)

*

8. They Are Terrible Liars

-Have you ever encountered teachers telling you to study months before the exam and last minute revision never works? They are wrong!

Last minutes revision does help you remind what you forget at times. Especially formulae and definitions. If it requires memorization, it's best to do it last minute. If it requires understanding, get the gist of it and make up your own sentence.

Oh, when I say LAST MINUTE, it's 2 weeks before. NOT 2 days.

9. Quit Before You Get Stressed Out

- Psychologically important. It takes a while for your stress level to decrease. So if you are studying (especially near the exam) and you are ALMOST stressed out, TAKE YOUR TIME TO NOT THINK.

Quit studying.
Get euphoric.
Watch favourite comedy movies (I suggest White Chicks & Mean Girls)

Whatever it is. Don't stress yourself out.

10. Eat. Pray. Love.

-EAT:
Chocolate (before school, just a pinch in the morning!),
Peppermints (I like Eclipse Mints!) and
Fruits (Red Apples for me).
They help A LOT! Especially when you want to survive boring lectures.

PRAY:
He will guide you and open your heart. So you won't have a panic attack or a total blackout, especially in the Exam Room.

LOVE:
Look around you. Especially your family. Spend time with them and they, more than anyone, will help you get more motivated.
